Having doubts in a relationship is common. Many people think that once you get married your bond is the strongest, but that’s not always true. A woman who had doubts decided to see whether they were valid. But, the way she went about it left her traumatized.

In her letter, she was honest about her feelings. However, in order for her to get him to show his true feelings, she said she wants to get a divorce. His reaction would give her all the answers she needed.

The Plan

She decided to hide under the bed and leave the note on top of the bed. That way she would be able to see how he reacted. Her husband would discover the letter, read it, and then react in one of two ways. Either he would start to cry or he would be happy. If he cries, she would comfort him but if he was happy she would know that it was over. However, she never thought that there might be a third reaction.

The Note

In her note, she told her husband that to her it seemed that there was no more love in the marriage and that the marriage was over. As cruel as it was, it was the most effective way to discover the truth. Knowing he would be home soon, she placed the letter on the bed and crawled in under it. Her heart was racing as she waited. Finally, she heard him arrive, unaware that she would soon regret what she did.

The Wait

She lay under the bed, waiting for him to arrive. She was wondering if she was doing the right thing. She doubted that this was the best way to find out if he loved her. It wouldn’t be long before she found out the answer she was desperate to know.

Prepared For Anything

As she waited for her husband to return home, she became more anxious. Then she heard him enter the home. He knew that his wife would be home, but he didn’t see her anywhere, so he entered their bedroom.

She Needed To Know

When he got to the bedroom, she heard him pause to probably read the note. She knew it was him from the feet. She was frozen with fear. This could be the moment that breaks her marriage or the start of a happily ever after.

She Was Shocked

When her husband finished reading, he started laughing! She heard him call a friend. During the call, he said “My marriage is finally over! I’ll see you soon.” Then he quickly walked out of the room. His wife was shocked, she had no idea what would happen next.

Hurtful Words

That phone call really stunned her. Not only was her husband happy, but he had someone who he told immediately. Who could that be? A mistress or one of his buddies?

The Plan Backfired

What else would he need to say to her after that? Whatever it was that he had to tell only took up a few sentences on the page. But, what did it say? After building up the courage to finally read the letter, what she saw stunned her! The letter read, “Dear wife, next time you try to trick me into proving my love, make sure your feet aren’t sticking out.” Wow, could this woman ever believe how her plan horribly backfired?

She Was Found Out!

The funny thing is that she had planned her little prank for weeks, but she didn’t remember to make sure she was totally under the bed when her husband walked into the bedroom! So this is the reason why her husband was lighthearted enough to take a joke, and prank her right back. Humor is the glue in all relationships. Could she possibly get over her embarrassment?
